Last night’s all new “Saturday Night Live” was hosted by actor Shia Labeouf. The show opened with Amy Poehler as Hillary Clinton giving a message to America. Poehler’s Clinton says how the race is “hopelessly deadlocked” and she gives reasons why she will make the better president. Reason one? “I am a sore loser… I will probably refuse to campaign for him.” Second: “My supporters are racist.” It goes from there. Watch the video.

Most agree that President Bush bears the greatest responsibility for the catastrophe of the Iraq war. He was the key decision maker at every point (at least I hope that we can assume this). And he’s fundamentally accountable. But if you look into the innards of the process that led to war there, there is probably no one more responsible for, or involved with, poor planning relating to Iraq than Doug Feith. You’d think someone such as Mr. Feith would be keeping a low profile. But in fact he’s got a book out explaining how Iraq was a great idea, how nothing was his fault, and essentially blaming his enemies. “Trainwreck” may be an overused term, but in this video we have a chance to look at some choice moments from Feith’s book release media tour, where he explains how most of the country got the whole thing all wrong. Watch the video.

The Atlantic.com website reports that although the Obama campaign calls its “Vote for Change” voter registration drive a mere voter registration drive (i.e., Nothing to see here, folks, except for ordinary people helping ordinary people gain the franchise), it’s much more than that. Obama’s Vote for Change program will lay the foundation for his general election get-out-the-vote efforts, according to the Atlantic. Obama aides won’t say more, but I gather the campaign is constructing an incredibly elaborate online interface to allow its more than a million donors and volunteers to directly persuade their neighbors through a variety of media. On election day, the Obama camp might have more than a million individuals volunteering on his behalf. That should scare the beejeesus out of the McCain campaign and the RNC. Read the full story, including the latest Obama campaign release, here at the Atlantic.com website.
